For political advocacy, here are two good places to visit on the web:

US Campaign to End the Occupation

How Much Military Aid to Israel...

...Do You Provide?

Did you know?  Between 2009-2018, the United States is scheduled to give Israel--the largest recipient of U.S. aid--$30 billion in military aid

Through its illegal 42-year military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip, Israel misuses U.S. weapons in violation of U.S. law to kill and injure Palestinian civilians, destroy Palestinian civilian infrastructure, blockade the Gaza Strip, and build illegal settlements in West Bank and East Jerusalem.

How much of this total will your community provide?  Is this a good use of your tax dollars? What else could your taxes be used for in your community?

Find out on the interactive map at the website above.

Contact Elected Officials
for Peace and Justice Advocacy

We will be adding much more regarding political advocacy, but while we continue building our website, we will provide you with some information for reaching government officials in Washington DC.

Don't be shy - get in the habit of calling, faxing, writing and emailing them on a regular basis. They are there to work for you.

Be sure to let them know how vital it is that the US deal fairly with both the Israelis and the Palestinians and require them both to comply with UN resolutions and international law.  And that US funding should not be enabling a continuation of the Occupation of Palestinian territory.

       Roll Call website at www.congress.org

There are many ways this site can serve you.

        • find out who your representatives are, both state and federal

        • contact several of them with one message you type online

        • track how your reps are voting on issues

        • contact the national media, and more local press (and broadcast media) than you ever imagined

        • AND find lists of organizations on every issue of concern, and what actions they are calling for!

For great tips on how to communicate with your elected officials, start here:

From there, you will also be able to get their email addresses, and more.

To look them up, you do need to know ALL of your zip code - if your zip code area is divided between more than one voting district, the extra 4 digits that the post office uses may be needed to determine which district you are in.

Roll Call with help you contact in Washington:

the President, the two Senators from your state, and the House Representative from your district.

In your own state, they can help you reach:

the Governor, and the members of the state senate and state assembly from your district.

If you want to write to your elected officials in DC, or those in your state, just click one button and after typing your message and checking off the names you want to receive it, they can take care of the rest.

While you are at Roll Call / congress.org, sign up for MEGAVOTE!

Once a week, this service will send you a brief summary of what legislation came through the House of Representatives and the Senate and how your three elected officials (2 Senators, 1 Representative) voted on them. A great way to keep track of where they really stand on the issues. It's brief and easy to read - and to save.
