Visit Israel-Palestine
Did you know?
United Methodists are called to be more than tourists or religious pilgrims in the Holy Land!  Read an important UMC resolution regarding church policy on Holy Land Tours.  read it >>

Read the letter sent to the Bishops of the UMC by the UM Liaison to Israel and Palestine and over 50 other United Methodists,
on the subject of appropriate United Methodist visits to the Holy Land. read it >>

Below you will find some sources for good opportunities to visit Israel-Palestine and not only see the important biblical locations, but learn what is happening today and meet Palestinian and Israelis who are working for justice and peace in their land. This should be a priority for all people of faith who care about the people of the Holy Land.

Interfaith Peace-builders
www.ifpb.org/delegations/default.html

Our delegations are the core of Interfaith Peace-Builders’ work. We started our delegation program in 2000 because we believed that justice in Israel/Palestine does not need to be complex. We started the program because Israelis and Palestinians invited us into their homes, offices, and places of worship to learn from them about their lives.

Today, our delegations continue as a testament to the transformative power of learning directly from those living in Israel/Palestine.

IFPB delegations expose participants to perspectives that are not readily available in North America. Meetings with diverse representatives of Palestinian and Israeli society focus particularly on those working nonviolently for a resolution to the conflict and an end to the occupation.

Delegates see the Wall, checkpoints, and demolished homes and learn how these and much more affect Palestinians. Likewise, delegates hear from Israelis about the effects of the conflict on Israeli society. The experiential learning that the delegation fosters is intended to motivate action for change when delegates return. IFPB provides materials, support, and mentoring to help returning delegates make the most of their experience.
